“This is a fantastic picture book that is full of colour and rhyme. Children of all ages will love this laugh out loud picture book…”
Auckland City Libraries, Kids, May 2005.
This is one of my most popular books, maybe because it’s been around a while. It’s a fun, rhyming romp that reveals why animals don’t wear underwear (and why we do). An oldie, but a goodie.
“Author Ruth Paul has fun working every known synonym for underpants into her rhyme scheme, the pictures are bright and lively and the story works.”
NZ Listener Magazine, December 1, 2004.
The Animal Undie Ball was chosen as John McIntyre of Radio NZ’s top four children’s books of 2004 and Consumer Magazines top four international children’s books for Christmas 2004 (as chosen by children).
Capital E produced The Animal Undie Ball as a stage performance in conjunction with the Java Dance Company in their Children’s Arts Festival in March 2007. Java Dance Company continues to perform the show in festivals around NZ.
The Animal Undie Ball has been translated into Korean, and had been a featured read on Australian television programme “Whurrawhy”.
