My friend recently took this photo of me in front of “Finale: Bouquet” by Nike Savvas and only later did we realise my frock matched the artwork. Happy coincidence!

A little about me: I work from a straw-bale studio in the middle of a big paddock (or field, if you aren’t a Kiwi) just outside Wellington, New Zealand.

I love to talk to schools, in person or via the internet, and I’m happy to be contacted by students – although sometimes it can take a little time to reply.

Recently I was honoured to become a New Zealand Arts Foundation Laureate. The link to an article and video about my work is on their website. To read about my own childhood introduction books and stories, visit The Sapling, or you could try this interview with me at the fabulous Seven Impossible Things blog. For a slightly older interview at the same place, step it back to here.

Of course, if you just want to listen, not look, you could try try this interview on Radio New Zealand National from 2018.

And for the formal lo-down, visit Read NZ Te Pou Muramura for my bio.

Please feel free to contact me to discuss illustration, publishing opportunities, school visits or presentations and to purchase or commission work. You can use the form below or message me on my Facebook page.
